TEMPESTADE TROPICAL JANGMI NAS FILIPINAS

Não é época de tempestades tropicais nas Filipinas, porém tivemos um supertufão no início de dezembro(TUFÃO HAGUPIT no dia 04.12.2014) e agora temos uma tempestade tropical chamada JANGMI  (nas Filipinas chamam de SENIANG) .

Sobe para 53 número de mortos nas Filipinas devido a inundações

As autoridades filipinas elevaram hoje (31) para 53 o número de mortos devido às inundações e deslizamentos de terras provocados pela tempestade tropical Jangmi. Na cidade de Catbalogan, na província de Samar, 19 pessoas morreram depois de um deslizamento ter deixado casas e carros soterrados, informou a presidente da Câmara, Stephany Uy-Tan.
A tempestade tropical afetou 121.737 pessoas, das quais 80.186 estão atualmente em centros de abrigo, de acordo com a Agência de Gestão de Desastres das Filipinas.
O número é quase três vezes superior ao do balanço da tempestade que atingiu o país, no início do mês, quando o Tufão Hagupit fez 18 mortos. As Filipinas são atingidas anualmente por cerca de 20 tempestades tropicais.

CEBU CITY – A total of 3,711 passengers were stranded in ports in Cebu, Bohol, and Camotes Island after the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) cancelled 33 boat trips Sunday afternoon.
The PCG Central Visayas Command gave the order after public storm signals were raised in the region as tropical storm Seniang entered the country.
In Cebu, a total of 16 boat trips were prevented from sailing.
Large vessels and fast ferries which cancelled trips included MV Ocean Jet 8 from Pier 1 in Cebu City to Ormoc City in Leyte, MV Weesam 7 from Pier 1 to Ormoc, MV Filipinas Dapitan from Pier 1 to Calbayog in Samar, MV Filipinas Dinagat from Pier 1 to Dumaguete City in Negros Oriental, and MV Filipinas Ozamiz from Pier 1 to Tagbilaran in Bohol.
Also cancelled were the trips of Saint Jhudiel from Pier 1 to Ormoc, Weesam 8 from Pier 1 to Ormoc, Lite Ferry 5 from Pier 1 to Tagbilaran, MV J&N from Pier 1 to Ubay, MV StarCraft 9 from Pier 1 to Tubigon in Bohol, MV Lite Ferry 25 from Taloot, Argao to Tagbilaran, and MV Mika Mari VI from San Francisco, Camotes to Danao.
Motorized bancas which were disallowed to sail included the Balt Dream from Bantayan Island to Estancia, Iloilo; the San Antonio from Liloan, Santander to Sibulan in Negros Oriental; the Mary Lou from Liloan, Santander to Sibulan; and the Jhetel 1 from Liloan, Santander to Sibulan.
In Bohol, 12 trips were cancelled, including MV Oceanjet 888 from Tagbilaran to Cebu City, MV Lite Ferry 10 from Tagbilaran to Cebu City, LCLT Brendan from Tagbilaran to Mandaue city, MV Lite Jet 1 from Tubigon to Cebu City, and MV Lite Ferry 12 from Tubigon to Cebu City.
Also cancelled were the trips of MV Starcraft 2 from Tubigon to Cebu City, MV Starcraft 6 from Tubigon to Cebu City, MV Starcraft 9 from Tubigon to Cebu City, MV J&N Carrier from Ubay, Bohol to Cebu City, MV Lady of Guadalupe Cebu from Ubay, Bohol to Bato, Leyte.
Motor bancas from Bohol which were prevented from sailing included the Meme 4 from Getafe, Bohol to Lapu-Lapu City and the Clemer II from Getafe to Cordova, Cebu.
Some vessels were also reported to have left their ports and seek shelter in safer areas.
These included the motorbanca GL Express 2 and the MV Maria Kristina which took shelter in Siquijor, MV Oceanjet 3 which took shelter in Bohol, MV Tug Sarin which took shelter in Dapitan,, and the MV Jehan 5 which took shelter to San Carlos City in Negros Occidental.
